The silver nanoparticles in Fuze reduce the surface tension of water and increase the surface area of the treated fabric. This increases the speed of evaporation and leads to faster drying.
As Fuze-treated fabrics dry faster, they reduce the time needed for both indoor drying and the electricity consumption when using a drying machine.
Drying time is measured in a wind tunnel. An infra-red video camera records the drying process.
The images below show the stages of drying throughout the test.
The Fuze-treated fabric is at the top and the untreated fabric is at the bottom.
The Fuze-treated fabric dries by 6:10 minutes compared to the untreated fabric which takes an extra 2:50 minutes (21.8%) to dry.
